Obsidian Roasters — Three Mornings
A coffee brand campaign rendered in three cities — Naples, Seoul, São Paulo — to test whether AI imagery can hold the cultural weight of a single ritual performed in three different lives.
The brief was deliberately small: the same brand, the same ritual, three cities that would never share a frame in life. We were looking for the texture of how a coffee is held — not the cup, the holding. Naples in his kitchen before the world wakes. A Seoul commuter finding two minutes on the platform. A São Paulo market worker on a crate before the day's logistics begin.

What the work asked of the imagery was cultural specificity at the level of detail rather than postcard. The Naples kitchen had to be Naples and not generic Mediterranean. The Seoul platform had to be Seoul and not generic Asian transit. The São Paulo market had to be São Paulo and not generic Latin American.

What survives across the three frames is the same gesture. What varies is the world around it.

Three frames, three cities, one brand. The campaign argues that specificity is the most reliable bridge between commercial image and editorial photography — that a coffee brand can carry the texture of three different mornings without losing itself.
